Chaz Lamar Shepherd is an American actor and singer-songwriter. He is well-known for his roles in popular TV shows. These include playing Artis Tower in Me and the Boys and John Hamilton on 7th Heaven. He also played Piranha in the superhero series Luke Cage. Many people also remember him as Al Bryant in the 1998 TV miniseries The Temptations.

Early Life and First Steps
Chaz Shepherd grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was very active in his church, Tindley Temple United Methodist Church. He also went to Evelyn Graves Christian Academy. His mother, Cheryl Shepherd, is a dancer and choreographer. She helped manage his career from a young age. Chaz first performed on stage when he was just 5 years old. He was the host at a dance show for his mother's dance school.

Chaz Shepherd's first professional acting job was in a play called Fame. This play was put on by the Walnut Street Theatre.
TV Show Roles
On television, Chaz has had many memorable roles. He played Al Bryant in The Temptations, a miniseries about the famous music group. He was also Artis Tower, the son of Steve Tower, on the show Me and the Boys. Chaz also appeared in other popular shows like In the House, Moesha, and Sister, Sister.
From 1996 to 2001, he played John Hamilton on the family drama 7th Heaven. Later, he had a recurring role as Trey Wiggs on The Game. In 2018, he played Raymond "Piranha" Jones in the second season of Luke Cage. He also sang as a guest lead vocalist on Judith Christie McAllister's album "Send Judah First" in 2000.
