Cheez-It is a popular brand of cheese crackers. They are made by a company called Kellanova, which is part of Kellogg's. These tasty crackers are small rectangles, about the size of a postage stamp. They are made with real ingredients like wheat flour, vegetable oil, cheese, and spices.

The Story of Cheez-It Crackers

The journey of Cheez-It crackers began in 1907. That's when Weston Green started the Green & Green Company in Dayton, Ohio. His company made many baked snacks, including crackers and gingersnaps.

How Cheez-It Began

On March 31, 1921, Green introduced Cheez-It crackers as a brand new product. The company described the cracker as a "baked rarebit." This was a fancy way to say it was like a melted cheese dish on toast. Soon after, the first Cheez-It logo was officially registered.

Changing Owners Over Time

In the early 1930s, a company called Sunshine Biscuits bought the Green & Green Company. This meant Cheez-It crackers became part of Sunshine Biscuits. They helped make Cheez-Its popular all across the country.

Later, in 1996, Keebler bought Sunshine Biscuits. Then, in 2001, Kellogg's bought Keebler. This brought Cheez-It crackers under the Kellogg's family. In late 2023, Kellogg's changed some things. Their snack food business, including Cheez-It, became part of a new company called Kellanova.

Cheez-It Around the World

Cheez-Its officially arrived in Canada in January 2020. They also launched in Australia in April 2024. Ireland and the United Kingdom started selling them in September 2024.

What Makes Cheez-It Crackers Special?

Cheez-It crackers are small rectangles, measuring about 26 by 24 millimeters. Many people think they are square, but they are actually a bit longer on one side. A cool fact is that Cheez-It crackers are made with real cheese! Kellogg's, the company that makes them, is proud of this.
