Kenneth "Chi" McBride is an American actor. He was born on September 23, 1961. He is well-known for his roles in many movies and TV shows.

Early Life and Beginnings
Chi McBride was born in Chicago, Illinois. His stage name "Chi" comes from his hometown. He grew up in the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He went to Shiloh Academy, which is now called Chicago SDA Academy.
McBride first wanted to be a musician. He studied different instruments and sang in gospel choirs in Chicago. In 1986, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia. There, he worked for AT&T as a billing clerk.

McBride's first step into entertainment was with a song called "Basically, He's the Champ." This song was a parody about boxer Mike Tyson. Because the song was popular, McBride signed with Esquire Records. He then joined a rhythm and blues band called Covert.
