Chicago and New Haven Women's Liberation Rock Bands facts for kids
The Chicago Women's Liberation Rock Band and the New Haven Women's Liberation Rock Band were two music groups active from 1969 to 1973. They wanted to change rock music by adding women's voices and songs about equality for women.
Band Members
The Chicago band had several talented musicians:

- Patricia Miller played guitar and sang.
- Linda Mitchell was the band's manager.
- Fania Mantalvo played drums.
- Suzanne Prescott played drums.

The New Haven band also had a great lineup:

- Pat Ouellette played bass guitar.
- Harriet Cohen played guitar.
- Judy Miller played drums.
Florika Remetier was the most experienced musician in the New Haven group. She helped teach the other members how to play.
Their Music
In 1972, both the Chicago and New Haven groups worked together to record their first album. It was called Mountain Moving Day. Their music aimed to bring new ideas and women's perspectives into rock and roll.
The Band's End
The Chicago Women's Liberation Rock Band and the New Haven Women's Liberation Rock Band stopped playing together in mid-1973. This happened after Naomi Weisstein, a key member, moved to the East Coast.
