Children's Book of the Year Award for New Illustrator facts for kids
The CBCA Award for New Illustrator is a special prize given out every year by the Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA). It's one of many awards they give for great children's books.
This award helps celebrate new artists who create amazing pictures for kids' books. It first started in 1988. A man named Wallace Raymond Crichton left money to the CBCA to create it. For many years, it was known as the Crichton Award.
In 2019, the award got a new name and became part of the main CBCA Book of the Year Awards. Now, a national team looks after it.
