Christina Björk (born July 27, 1938) is a Swedish writer. She is famous for her wonderful children's books. Many of her stories are loved by kids and grown-ups all over the world.

Christina Björk was born in Stockholm, Sweden. She studied graphic design there. After her studies, she worked as a graphic designer for a magazine. This is where she met Lena Anderson. Lena later became a famous illustrator. They worked together on many popular books.

Christina then worked in children's television. She helped create fun shows for kids. From 1975 to 1980, she was an editor. She managed the children's page for a big newspaper called Dagens Nyheter.

In 1985, she published a special book. It was called Linnea i målarens trädgård. Lena Anderson drew the pictures for it. Two years later, it was translated into English. It became known as Linnea in Monet's Garden. This book is now available in more than 15 languages! A short film was also made from the book. Christina Björk helped direct this film.

Awards and Honors

Christina Björk has won many important awards. In 1988, she received the Astrid Lindgren Prize. This award is named after another famous Swedish children's author. In the same year, she won the Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis. This German award was for her book Linnea i målarens trädgård. She is also an honorary member of the Swedish Academy for Children's Books. This means she is highly respected for her work.
