The Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción (which means Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Spanish) is a beautiful old church. You can find it in Valdemoro, a town in Spain. This church is very special! In 1981, it was named a Bien de Interés Cultural. This means it's a really important historical building that Spain wants to protect.

Discovering the Church

The Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción was built in the Baroque style. This style was popular a long time ago. It often features grand designs and lots of decoration. The church is quite large! Its main area, called the nave, is about 60 meters long and 28 meters wide. It also has smaller rooms called side chapels.

Amazing Art Inside

The church is home to some incredible paintings. These artworks decorate the high altar. One painting is called St. Peter of Verona. It was created by an artist named Ramón Bayeu. Another important painting is The Assumption of the Virgin. This one was painted by Francisco Bayeu. You can also see The Apparition of the Virgin to St. Julian. This famous artwork was made by the well-known Spanish artist Francisco Goya.

The Tall Bell Tower

The church also has a tall bell tower. This tower was finished in the year 1764. It stands proudly next to the main church building.
