Cicely Englefield (born June 29, 1893 – died 1970) was a talented British artist. She was famous for writing and drawing her own children's books. Her stories often featured cute animal characters and explored nature.

About Cicely Englefield

Cicely Englefield was born in a part of south London called Lee. Her father worked in law. Cicely went to school at Maidstone Grammar School and Blackheath High School. She then studied art at the St Martin's School of Art and the Central School of Arts and Crafts.

After art school, Cicely started by creating pictures for children's yearly books. Soon, she began to write and illustrate her very own books. These books were often about animals and the natural world. Throughout her career, Cicely Englefield used different art methods. She often made wood engravings. She also used watercolors, lithography, and pen and ink drawings for her illustrations. She passed away in Poole, Dorset.
