Clara Sánchez (born March 1, 1955) is a famous Spanish writer. She is known for her interesting novels. In 2013, she won a big award called the Premio Planeta de Novela for her book El cielo ha vuelto. She also won the Premio Nadal in 2010 for Lo que esconde tu nombre. Clara Sánchez is a member of the Real Academia Española, which is a very important group that looks after the Spanish language. She joined this group on October 8, 2023.

Clara Sánchez was born in Guadalajara, Spain. She studied Spanish language and literature at the Complutense University of Madrid. After finishing her studies, she became a teacher at the National University of Distance Education.
Her Career as a Writer
Clara Sánchez has written many books. She has also written introductions for books by other authors. Sometimes, she even wrote for a TV show called ¡Qué grande es el cine! on Televisión Española.
Her first book, Piedras preciosas, came out in 1989. People really liked it. Her books often show how the modern world can be tricky. They use humor to talk about everyday life.
Some of her other early books include No es distinta la noche (1990) and El palacio varado (1993). In 1996, she wrote Desde el mirador, which was about a woman in her forties. El misterio de todos los días (1999) tells the story of a professor who falls in love.
Famous Books and Awards
In 2000, Clara Sánchez wrote Últimas noticias del paraíso. This book explores how young people can feel confused and alone today. It won the important Alfaguara Prize. Her books are popular in Spain and many countries in Latin America.
In 2010, she won the Premio Nadal for her book Lo que esconde tu nombre. This book is a thrilling mystery. It's about a young woman and an older man who meet an elderly couple in the Costa del Sol.
Her novel El cielo ha vuelto won the Premio Planeta de Novela in 2013. This is one of the biggest literary awards in Spain.
