Clem Smith's Football Journey
Clem Smith grew up in Perth, Australia. He went to Wesley College there. He also played junior football for Thornlie JFC. Later, he played for the Perth Demons in the West Australian Football League (WAFL).
Joining the AFL
In 2014, Clem was chosen by the Carlton Football Club. This happened during the 2014 national draft. He was the 60th player picked overall.
He made his first AFL appearance in 2015. This was against Richmond in the first game of the 2015 AFL season. He started the game as a "substitute" player. This means he was on the bench and could come into the game if another player needed to leave. He quickly joined the game when a teammate got injured.
Clem played seven games in his first year with Carlton. However, he did not play any games in 2016. At the end of that season, he was "delisted." This means he was no longer part of the team.
After Carlton
After leaving Carlton, Clem planned to play for the Perth Demons again in the WAFL. However, this did not happen. He then moved to the North Albury Football Club. There, he played in the Ovens and Murray Football League. He was also recognized for his fitness work. He was voted as the strength and conditioning coach for a reserve grade team.
