The Coat of Arms of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is like a special badge. It shows what this important government group does. The Ministry of Internal Affairs helps keep Romania safe and organized. It includes groups like the Police, Border Police, Gendarmerie, and Emergency Services.

This coat of arms has a big blue shield. On it, there's a golden eagle with its head turned to the right. The eagle has red beak and claws. Its wings are open, ready to fly. It holds a silver sword in one claw. In the other claw, it holds a green olive branch. The olive branch means peace and order.

On the eagle's chest, there's a smaller shield. This small shield has six parts. Each part shows the symbols of a different important group within the Ministry. At the bottom of the big shield, there's a white ribbon. On it, the motto of the ministry is written in Latin: Latin: PRO PATRIA ET ORDINE IURIS. This means "For the country and for the lawful order."

The first part of the small shield shows the symbols of the General Inspectorate of Romanian Police. The second part has symbols for the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations. The third part shows the symbols of the General Inspectorate of Border Police. The fourth part represents the General Inspectorate of Romanian Gendarmerie. The fifth part shows symbols for general administration. The sixth part has the emblem of the National Archives.

Symbols of Emergency Services

The Inspectorate for Emergency Situations has its own special symbols. These are also part of the Ministry's main coat of arms. They are shown on a small purple shield on the eagle's chest.

On this purple shield, you can see a firefighter helmet. It is placed over two crossed axes. These are traditional symbols for military firefighters. Below these, there is an exploding grenade. On the sides of the grenade, there are oak branches. The oak branches symbolize strength and endurance.

At the bottom of the main shield, there is a white ribbon. On it, the motto for the Emergency Services is written in Latin: Latin: AUDACIA ET DEVOTIO. This means "Courage and Devotion."

Symbols of the Gendarmerie

The Gendarmerie also has its own unique symbols. These are shown on a small blue shield on the eagle's chest. The Gendarmerie is a special police force. They help keep public order and safety.

On this blue shield, there is a silver diamond shape. It comes out of a three-leaf garland. Inside the diamond, there is a special letter "J". This letter "J" has been a symbol for the Romanian Gendarmerie since the 1800s. The diamond shape can mean life, good fortune, or rewards.

The garland of oak leaves around the diamond is also important. It stands for the power of sacrifice. It also means that the lawful state will last a long time. At the bottom of the main shield, there is a white ribbon. On it, the motto for the Gendarmerie is written in Latin: Latin: LEX ET ORDO. This means "Law and Order."
