Location Brandon, Manitoba

The Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum is an exciting aviation museum located at Brandon Municipal Airport in Brandon, Manitoba. It's a special place that remembers the brave airmen from the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan. These airmen trained at many air stations across Canada during World War II.

The museum is currently being redeveloped. It is being restored to include the main hangar, a medical building, a chapel, aircrew barracks, a motor pool building, a canteen, and an interpretive center. This will help visitors learn even more about this important part of history.

Inside the museum, you can see several real World War II aircraft. There are also cool displays showing navigation tools, pilot gear, bombardier equipment, and items used by ground crews. You'll find many interesting artifacts and a gift shop too! The Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum is recognized as a historic place in Canada.

Discovering the Museum's History

Remembering Heroes: A Special Memorial

In 2014, the museum created a special memorial. This memorial honors Canadian airmen who bravely lost their lives during World War II. It's a way to make sure their courage is never forgotten.

Exciting Renovations and New Planes

The museum closed temporarily in 2022 for important repairs to its big hangar. But it reopened with brand new exhibits in April 2025! As part of these updates, the museum repainted its Harvard plane and restored its Bolingbroke aircraft. Just two months later, in June 2025, the museum announced it had acquired three Noorduyn Norseman aircraft. These new additions make the collection even more amazing!
