Early Life and Education
Constanța Hodoș was born in a village called Zimbru, in Arad County. Her father, Constantin Tălaș, was a notary and a supporter of the 1848 revolutionaries. Her mother's name was Amalia.
Constanța spent her childhood in several small towns, including Aciua, Hălmagiu, and Baia de Criș. She went to a Romanian girls' school in Hălmagiu. Even though she had some formal schooling, Constanța was mostly self-taught. She loved to read a lot and learned a great deal on her own.
Moving to Bucharest and Writing Career
Constanța Hodoș married a writer named Alexandru I. Hodoș. However, their marriage did not work out. In 1886, she moved to Bucharest, which was the capital city of Romania.
In Bucharest, Constanța became a very active writer. She wrote many articles about important topics. These included patriotic themes, social issues, and cultural ideas. She also worked as an editor for a magazine called Revista noastră from 1905 to 1916. She wrote for many other magazines too, like Luceafărul and Sămănătorul.
