Constance Faunt Le Roy Runcie was a talented musician and writer.

Constance Faunt Le Roy Runcie (born January 15, 1836 – died May 17, 1911) was an American woman who was a talented pianist, an author, and a composer. This means she wrote music.

Biography

Constance was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. Her grandfather was Robert Owen, a famous Welsh reformer who worked to make factories and workplaces better for people.

After her father passed away, Constance went to Germany to study music. She learned how to compose music and play the piano from 1852 to 1861. After her studies, she returned to Indiana.

Constance married a minister named James Runcie, and they had four children together. The family lived in St. Joseph, Missouri. While there, Constance Runcie started a special club for women. This club helped to bring more art, music, and learning to the community. Her daughter, Ellinor Dale Runcie, also became a writer. Today, many of Constance Runcie's important papers are kept at Missouri Western State University.
