Conya Doss (born June 13, 1972) is an American singer, songwriter, and music producer. She is also a teacher. Many people call her "The Queen of Indie Soul." This nickname means she is a top artist in the soul music world who releases her music independently, without a major record company.
In the late 1990s, Doss was part of a music group called Lyrik. After the group ended, she started her solo career. Her first album, A Poem About Ms. Doss, came out in 2002. A song from that album called "Coffee" became popular on radio stations in her hometown of Cleveland.
In 2004, Doss started her own record label, Conya Doss Songs, Inc. This allowed her to have full creative control over her music. She has released many albums through her own label, sharing her unique style of R&B and neo-soul music with the world.
