Over time, the name was simplified. In 1893, the post office officially changed its name to "Cooper Hill." This post office served the local residents for many years. However, as times changed and transportation improved, smaller post offices sometimes closed. The Cooper Hill post office closed its doors in 1957. Even without a post office, the community of Cooper Hill continued to exist.
