Cora Juanita Brewer Martin-Moore (1927–2005) was an amazing gospel singer. She was a main singer, called a soloist, in a famous group known as the Sallie Martin Singers. Cora also led her own choir, the Echoes of Eden Choir. She even had her own company to publish music!

Cora's Early Life and Music Journey

Cora Martin-Moore was born in Chicago in 1927. When she was young, she was a member of the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Chicago. Her birth parents were Lucius and Annie Moore. However, she was adopted at an early age by the well-known gospel singer, Sallie Martin.

Joining the Sallie Martin Singers

As a teenager, Cora joined the Sallie Martin Singers. This was a big step in her music career. Later, she moved to Los Angeles. There, she became a member of the St. Paul Baptist Church. She also went to California State University, Dominguez Hills to continue her education.

Famous Songs and Compositions

Cora was very well-known for her beautiful singing of two songs: Eyes Hath Not Seen and He'll Wash You Whiter than Snow. She also wrote many of her own songs. Many of these songs were published by her very own music publishing company.

Leading the Echoes of Eden Choir

In 1958, Cora Martin-Moore became the director of the Echoes of Eden Choir. This choir was based in Los Angeles. She led the choir with her musical talent and passion.
