Cora Rónai is a talented Brazilian writer, journalist, and photographer. She was born on July 31, 1953. She is known for her interesting articles and for being one of the first journalists in Brazil to write about computers and technology.

Her Early Life and Career

Cora Rónai was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Her father, Paulo Rónai, was a writer from Hungary. Her mother, Nora Tausz Rónai, was an architect and swimmer.

Cora started her career as a journalist in Brasília. She worked for newspapers like Jornal de Brasília and Correio Braziliense. She also reported for Folha de S.Paulo and Jornal do Brasil from Brasília.

In 1980, she moved back to Rio de Janeiro. In 1982, she left Jornal do Brasil for a while. During this time, she focused on writing for theater and creating books for children.

A Pioneer in Tech Journalism

Cora Rónai was one of the first people to use computers. Because of this, she wrote the first newspaper column about personal computers in Brazil. This was in 1987, in Jornal do Brasil.

She was also the first Brazilian journalist to have a blog. Her blog was called internETC. This showed how interested she was in new technology.

Her Books and Photography

In 2006, Cora Rónai published a special book called Fala Foto. This book was made entirely of photos she took with her cell phone. It was even nominated for a big award called Prêmio Jabuti.

Since 1991, Rónai has written for O Globo, a major newspaper. She used to write a section called "Info etc" until 2008. Now, she writes for the "Tecnologia" section. She also writes for "Segundo Caderno", which is O Globo's arts and culture section. Besides her writing, she is also a strong supporter of animal rights.

Awards and Recognition

Cora Rónai has won several awards for her work. She received the Prêmio Comunique-se for Best Technology Writer three times. She won in 2004, 2006, and 2008.
