Cosolapa is a town in the state of Oaxaca, located in south-western Mexico. It is also the name of a larger area called a municipality. A municipality is like a local government area.
The Cosolapa municipality covers about 149.27 square kilometers. That's roughly 57.6 square miles. It is part of the Tuxtepec District. This district is in the Papaloapan Region of Oaxaca.
In 2005, about 14,305 people lived in the Cosolapa municipality.
