Costin Curelea's Football Journey
Starting His Career at Sportul Studențesc
Costin Curelea began his professional football journey with Sportul Studențesc. In his very first league match, which was a Liga II game against Dacia Mioveni, he scored two goals. This helped his team win the game 3-1.
He played his first match in Liga I, Romania's top football league, on July 31, 2004. This game was against Apulum Alba Iulia. Just two months later, he scored his first goal in Liga I. This goal came in a 1-1 draw against FCM Bacău at Regie Stadium.
Staying Loyal to His Team
After the 2005–2006 season, Sportul Studențesc was moved down to a lower league. But Costin Curelea decided to stay with the team. He was one of the key players, often scoring the most goals for his team. In the 2006–2007 season, he scored 14 goals in 29 matches. This showed how important he was to Sportul Studențesc.

Managerial Career
After his playing career, Costin Curelea became a football coach. He has worked as an assistant coach for several teams. Since August 2023, he has been the head coach for the Romania U20 team.
