Cover Drive facts for kids
Cover Drive was a cool band from Barbados. It had four talented members: Amanda Reifer, T-Ray Armstrong, Barry "Bar-Man" Hill, and Jamar Harding. They started their journey by singing popular songs by other artists. They would record these songs and share them on YouTube. Their videos became very popular! Soon, a big music company called Global Talent, which is part of Polydor Records, noticed them and signed them to a record deal. They even got to open shows for the famous singer Rihanna on her Loud Tour.

The Band's Journey
How the Members Met
The members of Cover Drive met in different ways. Amanda first met T-Ray when she was his babysitter. T-Ray and Jamar were in the same school year, even though they went to different schools. Amanda also met Bar-Man when they were both studying at college in the same year. These connections helped them form the band.
Signing a Record Deal
In April 2011, Cover Drive signed a big contract with Polydor Records. This was a huge step for them! They later released their album called Bajan Style. This album featured four popular songs, also known as singles.
Popular Songs and Album
Their songs "Lick Ya Down", "Twilight", and "Sparks" were very successful. All three of these songs made it into the top ten music charts in the United Kingdom. Another song, "Explode", reached number 29 on the charts. The album Bajan Style itself was released on May 7, 2012. It reached number 14 on the album charts.
Collaborations with Other Artists
Cover Drive also worked with other musicians. They were featured on a song called "Turn Up The Love" by the group Far East Movement. This song became quite popular too. It reached number 13 in the UK and was a top twenty hit in six other countries around the world.
