Creminelli Fine Meats began in 2007. It was founded by Cristiano Creminelli, Chris Bowler, and Jared Lynch. The Creminelli family has been making special meats and cheeses for many generations. They started as farmers and later owned a meat business called Salumificio di Vigliano.

Cristiano Creminelli's grandfather made meat products. He also worked as a chef for a famous Italian general. Cristiano's father took over the family business in the 1970s. Cristiano learned from his father when he was a teenager. By 1990, he was in charge of making the products. By 1996, he was managing the whole business.

Chris Bowler met Cristiano Creminelli in Italy. Chris was working for the US Olympic Committee during the 2006 Torino Winter Olympics. Cristiano was planning to grow his family business outside of his hometown of Biella, Italy. Chris and Cristiano, along with Jared Lynch, decided to start Creminelli Fine Meats in Salt Lake City.

When they first moved to the U.S., the company worked out of a basement. This was in Tony Caputo's Gourmet Food Market & Deli in Salt Lake City. Later, they moved several times. Now, they have a large 75,000-square-foot facility where they make their products. By 2015, the company was earning a lot of money.

The company is based in Salt Lake City because Utah's dry weather is like Northern Italy. This is where the Creminelli family has made cured meats for many years. Creminelli specializes in making old-style salumi. These are special Italian cured meats. They use traditional family recipes and methods.

They make many natural meats, like prosciutto, coppa, mortadella, bresaola, and different kinds of handcrafted salamis. These products are sold in big stores like Whole Foods Market and Harmons. You can also find them in over 8,000 Starbucks locations across North America. Many restaurants also serve Creminelli Fine Meats. You can even buy them online!

Awards and Recognition

Creminelli won a big award in 2013. It was the Sofi Award in the "meat, pate or seafood" group. They won for their new smoky and spicy Campania salami. Before this, they were a silver finalist at the Sofi Awards for four years in a row.
