Cristóbal Téllez de Almanza was an important Spanish official. He served as the 12th governor of the Philippines. This was during the time when Spain ruled the islands.
Before becoming governor, he was an "auditor licentiate." This means he was a legal expert who also handled military matters. He was the first Governor-General of the Philippines to come from the Real Audiencia of Manila. This was a high court and governing body in the Spanish colonies.
