Crook, Missouri facts for kids
Crook is a small, quiet place in Osage County, Missouri. It's known as an unincorporated community, which means it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town does. Instead, it's part of the larger county area.
The Story Behind the Name
Crook had a post office that opened in 1903 and stayed in business until 1920. The community got its unusual name because of a local shop owner. People in the area thought this merchant's business practices weren't always fair, so they jokingly called the place "Crook," which can mean someone who isn't honest.
