Cross of the Three Kingdoms facts for kids
The Cross of the Three Kingdoms (or Cruz de los Tres Reinos in Spanish) is a special hill in Spain. It's located near a small village called Arroyo Cerezo, which is part of the town of Castielfabib. This area is in the Rincón de Ademuz region, within the province of Valencia in the Valencian Community. The hill is also part of the Montes Universales mountain range. It stands tall at 1,555 meters (about 5,100 feet) above sea level.
Why is it called the Cross of the Three Kingdoms?
This hill got its name because, a long time ago, it was a very important spot. It marked the exact place where the borders of three powerful kingdoms met. These kingdoms were the Kingdom of Aragon, the Kingdom of Valencia, and the Kingdom of Castile.
People say that in the Middle Ages, the kings from these different kingdoms would meet right on this hill. They would gather there to talk about important issues and solve problems that affected all their lands. It was a neutral meeting point for powerful rulers!
