CRUNCH was a special TV show block on the Canadian channel YTV. It showed lots of cartoons every Saturday morning. CRUNCH started on September 9, 2006. It took the place of other YTV blocks like "The Zone Summer Weekends" and "Vortex".

From 2006 until late 2008, Ajay Fry was the host of CRUNCH. After that, Andy Chapman took over as host starting on October 4, 2008.

What Was CRUNCH About?

The main idea behind CRUNCH was a fun new "holiday" called "day 6". This special day meant no homework, no chores, and no extra activities like music lessons. It was all about enjoying your Saturday morning.

When Did "Day 6" Happen?

"Day 6" lasted from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This was exactly when the CRUNCH block was on TV. YTV even helped kids celebrate "day 6". They offered a kit you could download. It had door hangers to tell everyone that "day 6" was happening. It also had flyers with fun slogans and a big poster.

How CRUNCH Was Different

CRUNCH had a unique way of showing its hosts. Most TV blocks have hosts talk for a long time after a show. But CRUNCH split its host segments into two parts. One part was shown during the second commercial break. The other part appeared during the show's credits.

CRUNCH also used special on-screen logos. These were small pictures that popped up on the screen. Another YTV block, The Zone, started using a similar style in 2007.

The End of CRUNCH

The CRUNCH block finished on September 28, 2013. The next week, a new block called "The Zone Weekend" took its place.
