Building's Story

The Cushing Land Agency was started way back in 1854. It was created by a man named Caleb Cushing. He was a very important person at the time, serving as the U.S. Attorney General. This job meant he was the chief lawyer for the United States government.

Changing Hands

Later on, Caleb Cushing sold his company. The name of the business changed over time. It eventually became known as the Baker Land and Title Company. This company helped people buy and sell land.

Today's Use

Today, the historic Cushing Land Agency Building has a new purpose. It is home to the St. Croix Falls Historical Society. This society works to preserve and share the history of the local area. They help people learn about the past of St. Croix Falls.
