After this meeting, Johnson received some upsetting messages. She then shared a video where she spoke about being careful and acting in an orderly way. Because of what she said in this video, the Speaker of the Michigan House, Lee Chatfield, decided to remove Johnson from all three committees she was on. This decision was also supported by the Speaker-elect, Jason Wentworth.
Later, in 2022, Johnson was not able to run for re-election. This was because she did not submit some required paperwork about her campaign finances.
