Dai Satō (佐藤 大, Satō Dai), born in 1969, is a talented Japanese writer and musician. He is famous for writing stories for many popular animated TV shows, called anime. He also creates music.

Dai Satō started writing scripts when he was young. He wrote for different companies before focusing on anime. His first big project was the amazing 1998 series Cowboy Bebop. After that, he worked on other well-known shows. These include Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and Wolf's Rain.

In 2005, Satō was the main writer for Psalms of Planets Eureka Seven. For this work, he won an award for best screenplay in 2006. This was at the Tokyo International Anime Fair. From 2006 to 2007, he also worked on the Freedom Project series. This project featured the famous director Katsuhiro Otomo.

Dai Satō also started his own company called Frognation. He created it with two friends. This company included his electronic music label, Frogman Records. Later, in 2007, he left Frognation. He then started his own new company, Storyriders.
