Early Life and Youth Career
Daishi Kato was born in Asaka, Japan. He attended Toko Gakuen High School from 1999 to 2001. During these years, he played football for his school team.
Professional Football Career
After finishing high school, Daishi Kato began his professional football journey.
Shonan Bellmare (2002–2004)
In 2002, Daishi Kato joined Shonan Bellmare, a club in the J2 League. The J2 League is Japan's second-highest professional football division. For three seasons, he played many games as a substitute midfielder.
Kyoto Sanga FC (2005–2008)
In 2005, Daishi moved to another J2 League club, Kyoto Purple Sanga. This club later changed its name to Kyoto Sanga FC. He continued to play many matches as a substitute. In the 2005 season, his team, Sanga, won the J2 League championship.
After winning the championship, Sanga moved up to the J1 League, which is Japan's top football league. Over the next few years, the team sometimes moved between the J1 and J2 Leagues. Daishi's chances to play in games became less frequent, especially in 2008.
Yokohama FC (2009)
In 2009, Daishi Kato joined Yokohama FC, another team in the J2 League. However, he did not play many games for this club. At the end of the 2009 season, he decided to retire from professional football.
