Dale Talde is a famous American chef, TV star, and cookbook writer. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, on October 25, 1978. Many people know him from the TV show Top Chef on Bravo. He competed on Top Chef: Chicago in 2008 and Top Chef: All-Stars in 2010–11.
Even though Dale finished sixth in both Top Chef seasons, he became very popular. He has been a guest judge on the show many times. Dale has also hosted Up in My Grill on Tastemade. He was the main judge for Knife Fight season 4. He has also been a guest judge on Top Chef Amateurs, Chopped, Chopped Junior, and Beat Bobby Flay. What Inspired Dale Talde to Cook?
Dale Talde loved cooking from a young age. He grew up in Chicago and learned to cook with his mom. His parents were immigrants from the Philippines. This meant he grew up with both Filipino culture and American life.
This mix of cultures inspired the food at his first restaurant, TALDE. It opened in Brooklyn, New York, in 2012. He later opened more TALDE restaurants in Miami, Florida, and Jersey City, New Jersey.
Where Else Has Dale Talde Cooked?
Dale opened his first restaurant in Manhattan called Massoni in 2016. His second Manhattan restaurant, Rice & Gold, opened in 2017. In Florida, he also had three places inside the Grandview Public Market food hall. These were called The Corner, Clare's, and Little Red Truck.
In 2018, Dale started a business with his wife, Agnes. They created foodcrushhospitality.com. In 2019, they opened a restaurant called Goosefeather. Esquire magazine even called Goosefeather one of the best new restaurants in 2020. In 2022, Dale was nominated for a James Beard Award for Best Chef in New York.
