Daniel Gordon Frank (born January 4, 1882 – died March 20, 1965) was an American athlete. He was best known for competing in the long jump, a sport where athletes try to jump as far as possible. Daniel Frank was born in Boston, Massachusetts. He achieved a silver medal at the 1904 Olympic Games.

Daniel Frank: An Olympic Athlete
Daniel Frank was a talented athlete from the United States. He was a member of the New West Side Athletic Club in New York City. His main sport was the long jump, where he showed great skill.
Winning Silver at the 1904 Olympics
In 1904, Daniel Frank represented the United States at the 1904 Summer Olympics. These Games were held in St. Louis, Missouri. Frank competed in the long jump event. He performed very well, earning the silver medal. His best jump was 6.89 meters, which is about 22 feet and 7¾ inches.
Frank finished second to another American athlete, Myer Prinstein. Prinstein set a new Olympic record in the long jump at these Games. Even though Prinstein won the gold, Daniel Frank had beaten him in earlier competitions.
During the 1904 Olympics, Daniel Frank also took part in other running events. He competed in the 440-yard dash and the 5-mile run. However, he did not win any medals in these races.
Before the Olympics: A Personal Best
Before the 1904 Olympic Games, Daniel Frank showed his strength in the long jump. In 1904, he competed at the New York Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Championships. At this event, he defeated Myer Prinstein. Frank also achieved his personal best jump there. He jumped 23 feet and 11½ inches, which is about 7.3 meters. This great performance happened before he went on to win his Olympic silver medal.
Daniel Frank passed away on March 20, 1965, in New York.
