Daniel Portman (born Daniel Porter on February 13, 1992) is an actor from Scotland. He is famous for his role as Podrick Payne in the popular TV show Game of Thrones. He played this character from 2012 to 2019. More recently, he appeared in the TV series Black Mirror in 2023.
Early life
Daniel Portman was born in Glasgow, Scotland. His father, Ron Donachie, is also an actor. Daniel grew up in an area of Glasgow called Strathbungo.
He went to Shawlands Academy for school. While there, he enjoyed playing rugby. He was also chosen to be the Head Boy, which is a student leader. After high school, he studied acting at Reid Kerr College in Paisley.
Career
Daniel Portman started acting when he was 16 years old. His first movie role was in Outcast in 2010. He played the character Paul in this film.
After that, he appeared in a Scottish TV show called River City. He also had a small part in the Scottish comedy movie The Angels' Share.
In 2011, it was announced that Daniel would join the cast of Game of Thrones. This was a very popular fantasy drama series. He played the character Podrick Payne from the second season until the very last season. He even sang a song called "Jenny's Song" in one of the episodes.
More recently, Daniel has continued to act in different TV shows and movies.
