Dante Carver is an American actor who became famous in Japan. He was born on January 17, 1977, in Brooklyn, New York. Dante moved to Japan in 2005. He quickly became well-known for his funny TV commercials.
From 2006, he starred in a series of ads for SoftBank Mobile. In these ads, he played a character called "Yosō Guy." This name was a clever play on words, meaning "unexpected" in Japanese. Later, he played the older brother in the fictional "White family." This family was led by a white Hokkaido dog! In 2008, Dante was even voted the most popular male actor in Japanese TV commercials. He beat Takuya Kimura, who had been number one for eight years!

Dante Carver grew up in New York City. He went to Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. There, he studied International Business.
On August 4, 2010, Dante married Akiko Matsumoto. She used to be a model. They had a wedding party in April 2011.
