Danuza Lofego Leão (born July 26, 1933 – died June 22, 2022) was a well-known Brazilian model, journalist, writer, and actress. She was also famous as a socialite, meaning she was a prominent person in society.

Acting and Writing
She had a small part in a movie called Entranced Earth in 1967. This film was directed by Glauber Rocha and won an award from the International Federation of Film Critics.
Besides acting, Danuza was also a talented writer. She published several books during her life.
Journalism
Danuza worked as a newspaper columnist for twelve years. She wrote for the Folha de S.Paulo newspaper, which is a very important newspaper in Brazil.
In 2013, she left the newspaper. This happened a few months after some of her opinions, shared in her column, caused a lot of public discussion.

Danuza Leão was the older sister of the famous Brazilian singer Nara Leão.
She was married to Samuel Wainer, who was the founder of a newspaper called Última Hora. Together, they had three children. Their children were Débora "Pinky" Wainer, who became a plastic artist, Bruno Wainer, who became a film producer, and Samuel Wainer Filho, who was a journalist. Sadly, Samuel Wainer Filho passed away in 1984 due to a car accident.
Danuza Leão died on June 22, 2022, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She was 88 years old and passed away from respiratory failure.
