History of the Museum

The Danville Science Center first opened its doors in 1995. It is located near the Dan River in a part of the old Danville station. This area is known as the "Crossing at the Dan." It's a special place with many old, restored buildings in Danville's downtown warehouse district.

In 2005, the museum grew even bigger. It expanded into another building, the Southern Railway Administrative Building. This means there are now two buildings full of science fun! Later, in 2014, a full digital dome theater was added. This theater offers amazing shows and experiences, making science come alive.
