Darryl Stephens is an American actor and author. He is well-known for playing the main character, Noah Nicholson, in the TV show Noah's Arc. This show was a mix of drama and comedy, often called a "dramedy."
Acting Career
Darryl Stephens started his acting journey by appearing in various TV commercials. He also performed in small plays and took acting classes to improve his skills.
His big break came in 2004. Filmmaker Patrik-Ian Polk chose him for the main role in a new series called Noah's Arc. At first, the show was meant to be released directly on DVD after getting great reviews at film festivals. But in 2005, a TV channel called LOGO decided to air Noah's Arc, and it became very popular.
In 2006, the second season of Noah's Arc was shown on TV. Around the same time, Stephens also acted in the comedy film Another Gay Movie and the drama Boy Culture.
In 2008, a movie based on the show was released. It was called Noah's Arc: Jumping the Broom. This movie continued the story from where the TV series ended, focusing on the wedding of Stephens' character, Noah, and his partner.
Later, in 2010, he appeared as a guest star in an episode of the TV show Private Practice. In 2011, he was in the film Bolden!, which was about the jazz musician Buddy Bolden. Darryl Stephens played a cornet player named Frank Lewis in that movie.
More recently, Stephens played a regular character named Gideon on the TV show B Positive, which aired on CBS.
Other Work
In 2011, Darryl Stephens released his own book called Shortcomings. This book is a collection of short stories that he had written before.
Personal Life
Darryl Stephens became a father in August 2020. He welcomed a daughter with the help of a surrogate.
