David Douglas's Life
For most of his life, David Douglas was known as David Douglas of Colbrandspath. He was the son of George Douglas of Pittendreich and Elizabeth Douglas.
David Douglas became the Earl of Angus in 1557. Sadly, he passed away in 1558 at a place called Cockburnspath.
His Family
David Douglas married Margaret Hamilton. Her father was John Hamilton of Samuelston. David and Margaret had several children together:
- Archibald Douglas, 8th Earl of Angus
- Margaret Douglas
- Elizabeth Douglas, who married John Maxwell, 8th Lord Maxwell
After David Douglas died, his wife Margaret Hamilton married two more times.
