About David Ellwand
Early Life and Education

His Creative Career
David Ellwand started his photography career when he was 18. In 1991, he opened his own photography studio. He mostly took pictures for advertising companies. Later, he started creating photos and illustrations for books. He uses many different materials and styles in his work. Some of his well-known pieces are black-and-white photos. He also makes collages and uses mixed media. This means he combines hand-colored photos with natural items and everyday objects.
In April 2010, David was on the children's TV show, Blue Peter. He was asked to build a large wooden house for fairies. This house was made from a tree trunk for the Blue Peter Garden. On the show, he taught the presenter, Andy Akinwolere, how to make small furniture pieces for the fairy house.
Around 2011, David started working on books about supernatural things. He tried old photography methods, like the wet collodion process. He finds the supernatural very interesting. He says that places where people once saw fairies are now where some might report UFOs.
Amazing Fairie Creations
David's best-selling fairy fashion books are Fairie-ality: The Fashion Collection from the House of Ellwand and Fairie‐ality Style. These books came out in 2002 and 2009.
