David Makeléer (1646 – 10 November 1708) was an important person in Sweden. He is sometimes known as David Macklier. He served as the Governor of Älvsborg County in Sweden. He held this important job from 1693 until 1708.
About David Makeléer
David Makeléer was born in 1646. His father was John Hans Makeléer (1604-1666). His mother was Anna Gubbertz (c.1595-1653). She was also known as Anna Quickelberg. David had several brothers and sisters.
In 1679, David married Eleonora Elisabet von Ascheberg (1663-1737). Her father was a famous military leader named Field Marshal Rutger von Ascheberg.
David Makeléer became the very first governor of Älvsborg County in Sweden. He started this role in 1693 and continued until his death in 1708. A governor is like a leader or manager for a specific area or region.
His Family
David and Eleonora had children:
- Friherre Rutger Macklier (1688-1748) married Baroness Vilhelmina Eleonora Coyet. They had two sons, Baron David Macklean and Friherre Rutger Macklean.
- Count John Adolphus Maclean became a general in the army. He was also a colonel of the king's special guards.
