Davide Cali, born in 1972, is a talented Italian writer from Switzerland. He is well-known for writing picture books and graphic novels, mostly for kids and teenagers. He lives in Italy, and his books have been published in 25 countries and translated into many languages. He also uses the pen names Taro Miyazawa and Daikon.

About Davide Cali

Davide Cali was born in Liestal, Switzerland, but he grew up in Italy. He started his career working on comic books. In 1994, he became a comic book author for a famous Italian comics magazine called "Linus," where he worked until 2008.

He began writing children's books in 1998. His first books came out in Italy. Since 2004, his books have also been published in France. Today, Davide Cali has written more than 90 books, and they have been translated into over 30 languages!

Davide Cali has also taught classes about illustration in Italy and other parts of Europe, including the Estonian Academy of Arts in Tallinn. He even helped create a guide called "Cari autori vediamoci chiaro" for people who want to become professional illustrators. This guide offered tips and advice from Davide Cali and other important Italian authors.

Since 2016, he has been the art director at Book on a Tree. This is a storytelling agency started by Italian writer Pierdomenico Baccalario. In 2020, Davide Cali started projects to encourage reading. He offered online reading sessions and gave free projects to bookstores, teachers, and librarians. These included "Hula-Hoop Readings" and "Take-Away Writers."
