Dawlish Methodist Church is a church found on Brunswick Street. It is in the town of Dawlish, which is in Devon, England. This church is part of the Teignbridge circuit.
The Church's Story
The church began to be built in 1861. A man named Ebenezer Pardon helped start the building. He laid the first stone of the church.
Later, in 1883, a schoolroom was added. This room was built at the back of the church. The schoolroom is still used today. It has been updated many times over the years.
A Fire Incident
On November 22, 2015, a small fire happened at the church. The fire started in the church's organ. The organ is a large musical instrument.
People noticed smoke coming from the organ pump. Firefighters were called to the church. They arrived at 11:22 AM. The firefighters quickly put out the fire. Luckily, the fire did not cause much damage to the church.
