Dean and Dan Caten grew up in Willowdale, Toronto, Canada. They were born in 1964 and have seven older brothers and sisters. Their dad came from a small town in Italy. Their mom was from England. In 1983, they went to New York to study fashion. They attended Parsons School of Design for one semester. After that, they returned to Toronto.
