DelGrosso's Park is a fun amusement park for families. It is located in Tipton, Pennsylvania, near Altoona. The DelGrosso family bought the park in 1946. For many years, it was called "Bland's Park." In 2000, its name changed to "DelGrosso's Amusement Park." Today, it's known as DelGrosso's Park. The park is a great place for picnics and special music shows.

The park has over 30 rides and a cool waterpark called Laguna Splash. Laguna Splash opened in 1997 and has an Italian theme. The park is split by a road, but a special crosswalk built in 1989 helps everyone cross safely.

Discovering DelGrosso's Park: A Journey Through Time

The park first opened in 1907. It was started by the Rinard brothers on the Bland family farm. Back then, it was called Bland's Park. In 1946, Ferdinand "Fred" DelGrosso bought the park. Some of the original rides, like the Carouselle, were already there. The DelGrosso family has always worked to make the park better. They added new rides and attractions over the years. This included the waterpark in 1997, with more additions in 1999 and 2016. The park kept the name Bland's Park until 2000. That's when it officially became DelGrosso's Amusement Park. The DelGrosso family also started DelGrosso Foods, Inc. This company makes yummy pizza sauce, spaghetti sauce, and other Italian foods.

Exciting Roller Coasters at DelGrosso's

DelGrosso's Park has a history of fun roller coasters. The first one was the Little Dipper, a small coaster for kids from the 1950s. It was replaced in 1986 by the Zyklon. The Zyklon was a bigger coaster that had traveled to a few other parks before coming to DelGrosso's. In 2003, the Zyklon left the park.

In 2004, two new coasters arrived. One was the Crazy Mouse, a spinning coaster that twists and turns. The other was the Wacky Worm, a fun coaster for younger riders. The park once bought a large coaster called "Revolution" in 2006. However, it was never built at DelGrosso's. It later found a new home in the Philippines.

Laguna Splash Waterpark: Italian-Themed Fun

The Laguna Splash Waterpark is a fantastic place to cool off. It first opened in 1997 with Tipton Waterworks, a fun play area for kids. It had small slides and a giant bucket that dumped water. In 1999, five big water slides called Tipton Rapids were added.

In 2016, the waterpark got a huge upgrade. It added a lazy river, a wave pool, and a new children's activity pool. The whole waterpark was given an Italian theme. This was to celebrate the DelGrosso family's Italian background. It was then named Laguna Splash.
