Delma Gisu is an Australian rules football player. She played for the Greater Western Sydney team in the AFL Women's (AFLW) competition. She was born on July 2, 1996.
Delma Gisu's Early Life
Delma Gisu was born in Townsville, Queensland, in 1996. Before joining the AFLW, she played for the Wilston Grange Gorillas club. She made history as the first person from the Torres Strait Islands to be chosen in the AFLW draft.
Playing in the AFLW
Delma Gisu was chosen by Greater Western Sydney in the 2018 AFL Women's draft. She was the 65th player picked in that draft. Before this, in May 2018, she was part of the first-ever Winter Series team for the Gold Coast Suns.
Greater Western Sydney officially signed Gisu for the 2019 season in October 2018. She played her first AFLW game in the last round of the 2019 AFLW season. Her debut match was against Geelong.
After the 2019 season, in April 2019, Delma Gisu was delisted by Greater Western Sydney. This means she was no longer part of their team.
