Delma Gisu, born on 2 July 1996, is an Australian rules footballer. She played for the Greater Western Sydney Giants in the AFL Women's (AFLW) competition.
Delma Gisu's Early Life
Delma Gisu was born in 1996 in Townsville, Queensland. Before joining the AFLW, she played for the Wilston Grange Gorillas. Delma made history as the very first Torres Strait Islander player to be chosen in the AFLW draft.
Her AFLW Journey
Delma Gisu was picked by the Greater Western Sydney Giants as the 65th player in the 2018 AFL Women's draft. Before this, she was part of the first-ever Winter Series team for the Gold Coast Suns in May 2018.
The Greater Western Sydney Giants officially signed Delma for the 2019 season in October 2018. She played her first AFLW game in the final round of the 2019 AFLW season. This exciting debut was against Geelong.
After the 2019 season, Delma Gisu was delisted by Greater Western Sydney in April 2019.
