Delmer is a small place in Pulaski County, Kentucky, in the United States. It's known as an unincorporated community. This means it's a town or village that doesn't have its own separate local government, like a mayor or town council. Instead, it's usually managed by the county government.
How Delmer Got Its Name
The community of Delmer has a unique story behind its name. In 1903, a post office was opened there. The person who was in charge of this first post office decided to name the community after his own baby son, whose name was Delmer. So, the town got its name from a little boy! The post office in Delmer is now closed, but the name lives on.
