Early Life and Musical Journey

Delphine von Schauroth was born in Magdeburg, Germany, in 1813. She started learning piano at a very young age.

She studied with a famous teacher named Friedrich Kalkbrenner in Paris. When she was just nine years old, in 1822, she played her first big concert in Frankfurt am Main. After that, she went on tours all over Europe, playing in big cities like Paris and London. She became quite famous for her piano playing.

Working with Felix Mendelssohn

A famous composer named Felix Mendelssohn met Delphine in Munich in 1831. He was very impressed by her musical talent. Mendelssohn even said that Delphine helped him write a part of his First Piano Concerto. He thought her part was amazing! He dedicated this important piano concerto to her, which shows how much he respected her as a musician.

Later Life and Career

In 1833, Delphine moved to London after she got married. She continued to perform concerts there. Later, she moved back to Munich and kept composing music. In 1870, she joined a group for composers called the General German Music Association. Delphine von Schauroth passed away in Munich in 1887.
