Democratic republic facts for kids
A democratic republic is a country which is both a republic and a democracy. Which means that a country where the people can take part in the decisions that affect the way their community is run and one with no monarch. Countries which call themselves democratic republics do not always hold free or fair elections elections. For example, the German Democratic Republic, a socialist dictatorship.
