Dennō Bōkenki Webdiver facts for kids

Dennō Bōkenki Webdiver (電脳冒険記ウェブダイバー, Dennō Bōkenki Webudaibā, lit. Cyber Adventure Record Webdiver) is a cool Japanese cartoon series. It's about giant robots, called "mecha," and exciting adventures. The show was made by NAS, TV Tokyo, and Radix. There were even toys by Takara that could connect with your TV!

Main Heroes

Kento Yūki (結城ケント, Yūki Kento)

Kento is the main hero of the story. He's a fourth-grade kid who is super lucky. He escapes a dangerous computer virus that takes over a special online world. Kento later meets Gladion, a robot knight who helps him. In the real world, Kento is just a normal kid. But inside the computer world, he becomes a brave and skilled pilot. He truly cares about all his friends, especially the Web Knights.

Gladion (グラディオン, Guradion)

Voiced by: Tomokazu Sugita

Gladion is a special robot knight. He looks like a train but can change into a powerful gladiator robot. He is the only Web Knight who wasn't taken over by the virus. Gladion teams up with Kento to fight the virus and save the computer world.

Aoi Arisugawa (有栖川アオイ, Arisugawa Aoi)

Voiced by: Shiho Kikuchi

Aoi is Kento's close friend and the only girl in their group. Her grandpa, Professor Arisugawa, created the "Magical Gate" computer world. Aoi helps Kento from their base, the Magical Station. She acts as the operator, guiding the Web Knights during battles.

Naoki Asaba (浅羽ナオキ, Asaba Naoki)

Naoki is Kento's childhood friend and classmate. They often compete in sports and sometimes argue, but they are very close. Naoki was trapped and controlled by the virus at first. Kento and Gladion saved him. Unlike others, Naoki remembered what happened. He then joined the team and became the pilot of Draguon.

Shō Kurachi (倉知ショウ, Kurachi Shō)

Voiced by: Yuki Kaida

Shō is an older student and a friend of Kento. He was also trapped and brainwashed by the virus. He even piloted one of the Web Knights that Kento had to fight. After being saved, Shō joined the group. He became the pilot of Daitarion, a very important Web Knight. Shō is smart and wise, making him a trusted member of the team.

Jean-Jacques Jacquard (ジャン・ジャック・ジャカール, Jan Jakku Jakāru)

Voiced by: Masataka Nakai

Jean is an older student from France who lives in Japan. He also escaped the Magical Gate. Jean loves collecting model pirate ships. When Garyūn, a Web Knight that looks like a galleon ship, was found, Jean was excited to pilot him. He gladly joined Kento's mission.

Kaito Yūki (結城カイト, Yūki Kaito)

Voiced by: Reiko Takagi

Kaito is Kento's younger brother. He got trapped inside the Web world but wasn't brainwashed. Kento had to rescue him. Kaito is the youngest in the group and doesn't have much battle experience. He mostly helps Aoi at the base. However, he can be very helpful in tough situations. He even becomes the pilot for Wyverion sometimes.

Charon is another important helper at the Magical Station.

Web Knights

Web Knights are special programs that protect the computer world. They can transform into different vehicles and robots. Many of them can also combine with Gladion to give him new powers.

Griffion (グリフィオン, Gurifion)

Griffion is a jet plane that can turn into a griffin. He can also become armor for Gladion's chest.

Phoenixon (フェニクオン, Fenikuon)

Phoenixon is a bullet train that transforms into a phoenix. He can also become armor for Gladion's chest.

Sharkon (シャークオン, Shākuon)

Plot

The Digital World in Danger

The story of Dennō Bōkenki Webdiver takes place in the year 2100. In this future, kids can become "Web divers." This means they can upload their minds into global computer networks. They love to play in a cool online park called the "Magical Gate."

The Virus Attack

One day, a mysterious computer virus appears. This virus starts to destroy the Magical Gate. Special programs called "Web Knights" were made to protect the children. But the virus was so strong that it turned almost all the Web Knights against the kids!

Kento's Mission

Only one Web Knight, named Gladion, managed to escape the virus's control. Gladion needs help to save the Magical Gate. He finds Kento Yuki, a fourth-grade Web Diver. Together, Kento and Gladion must fight the virus. Their mission is to save the computer world and all the children trapped inside.
