Derrick L. Jackson was born on January 11, 1966. He is an American politician. He currently serves in the Georgia House of Representatives. He represents District 68 in Georgia.
Before this, he represented District 64. He also ran for a different political job. He wanted to be the Democratic candidate for lieutenant governor in Georgia in 2022.
Derrick Jackson's Political Journey
Derrick Jackson was first elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in 2016. He won his election for District 64. He did not run for re-election in 2022. This was because he was trying to become the lieutenant governor.
In 2023, he was elected to the Georgia House again. This happened in a special election. He took the place of Tish Naghise. She was the person who had taken his old seat.
Running for Governor
In June 2025, Derrick Jackson announced something big. He said he would run for governor of Georgia. This election will happen in 2026.
